About Summit Disposal, Inc.
One Hundred and Thirteen Years Of Customer Service ... At Your Service.
Summit Disposal, Inc. (SDI) is a proud, woman-owned small business, founded in April 2019 to serve the City of Mt. Shasta and surrounding areas. Summit Disposal, Inc. also provides drop box service within the city limits and throughout Siskiyou County.
The roots of Summit Disposal, Inc. extend back to Burney Disposal, Inc. (BDI), founded in beautiful Eastern Shasta County in 1977. Tom Ghiorso, his wife Gwen and his daughter Elizabeth lead BDI and SDI with a focus on service excellence, fair prices and innovative solutions.
Tom is pictured here (right) with his oldest daughter Angela and youngest daughter Elizabeth, who now works alongside him as part owner in SDI.
Elizabeth is fourth generation in the business. She gleans inspiration from her father, her grandfather and her great grandfather, Giovanni, who established the family's waste-industry legacy in 1906 and now holds a place in the Waste Hall of Fame.
